From the common cold and infections to fatal diseases like cancer, each has one factor in common, and that is our immune system. Whatever the nature of the illness, it is our immunity that will come to the rescue. A compromised immunity brings with it a multitude of diseases that it is no longer capable of preventing. Our immune system needs certain nutrients to function optimally, which we should provide through our balanced diet. To develop and sustain your immunocompetence, include nutrients such as vitamins A, C, D, B6, and B12, folic acid, iron, and beta carotene in your diet. Eating healthy means taking some burden off your immune system by promoting your gut microflora, i.e., the community of good bacteria in your digestive system. You can have more plant-based foods like fruits, vegetables, legumes, seeds, etc., that are also rich in antioxidants.

Stay Hydrated:

You can prevent many illnesses by just staying hydrated. It increases your oxygen-carrying potential and ensures the proper functioning of body systems. It also removes toxins from your blood by aiding the detoxification pathways and prevents them from undermining your immune system. It also improves digestion and the absorption of nutrients from your gut to the bloodstream. The combined advantages of hydration will prove to be invaluable for your immune system.

Have Adequate Sleep:
